Somehow, when the day starts, I always forget that my Mondays are a lot of fun. After the morning WOD (and a day of work, of course), it’s Olympic Lifting class on Monday nights and, this week, we are continuing our POSE running class (tonight was class 3 of 4). Nothing like a full day of work and work!
Snatch (of course)
5x 2 Snatch @ 70% of 1RM
[95 lbs, 95 lbs, 100 lbs, 100 lbs, 105 lbs]
(A) 3 Snatch Pulls @ 125 lbs & rest 1 minute
(B) 2 High Bar Back Squats @ 205 lbs & rest 1 minute
I don’t think I’ve ever written or said this before but … I was killing the snatch tonight. Good speed transition and explosion. Pulled under the bar and stayed back in my heels and, for me, opened my shoulders up on the catch. It was so nice to start stringing good lifts together!
As we joked at the box, “Wow! It’s almost like all the practice we’ve done has helped.”
Class was particularly fun tonight because it was warm and we got to play outside for a while. We did the normal drills but then went outside on the river trail (gravel) to work on our POSE and not doing burn outs when we run. The stride is coming along. And, yes, I still freaking hate running!
